How to protect the Cosafe app with Face ID, fingerprint, or screen lock

Why you should be logged in on multiple devices

Cosafe is a crisis management application. We recommend logging in on both your work phone and your personal mobile. This way, you can receive alarms and important information even when you don't have your work phone at hand – for example on your way to work.

If you are concerned that someone else might accidentally access the app – for example if a child borrows your phone – you can protect it with Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or a screen lock. Below is how to do it on each platform.

iOS (iPhone)

  1. Go to the home screen and find the Cosafe app.
  2. Press and hold the app icon until a quick actions menu opens.
  3. Tap Require Face ID (or Touch ID / Passcode depending on your device).
  4. Done – the app now requires biometrics or a passcode to open.

Android

info

The ability to lock individual apps varies significantly by manufacturer. There is no standardized method that works on all Android phones.

Samsung

Most Samsung phones do not have a traditional per-app lock. The best protection is a strong screen lock – pattern, PIN, or fingerprint – making it harder for anyone to access the phone in the first place.

Set up a pattern or PIN:

  1. Go to Settings → Lock screen → Screen lock type.
  2. Choose Pattern (draw a pattern with your finger) or PIN.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm.

Add a fingerprint:

  1. Go to Settings → Security and privacy → Biometrics → Fingerprints.
  2. Confirm your current screen lock, then tap Add fingerprint.
  3. Follow the instructions until the progress bar reaches 100%.

OnePlus, Oppo, Xiaomi, Realme

These manufacturers typically include a built-in app lock:

  1. Go to Settings → Security & Privacy (or Privacy) → App Lock.
  2. Enable App Lock and select Cosafe from the list.
  3. Choose your unlock method (fingerprint, pattern, or PIN).

Google Pixel and other Android phones

Built-in app lock is not available on most versions. The best protection is a strong screen lock – pattern, PIN, or fingerprint.

Set up a pattern or PIN:

  1. Go to Settings → Security → Screen lock.
  2. Choose Pattern or PIN.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm.

Add a fingerprint:

  1. Go to Settings → Security → Fingerprint.
  2. Confirm your current screen lock, then tap Add fingerprint.
  3. Follow the instructions until the progress bar reaches 100%.
tip

Search for "fingerprint" or "screen lock" in the Settings search bar if you have trouble finding the right menu.

note

As a fallback, third-party app-locking apps are available on Google Play – search for "app lock". Always test that Cosafe alarms still work correctly after installing any third-party app.

warning

The following features should not be used to restrict access to Cosafe. When active, they stop the app completely – meaning alarms will not reach the user.

  • Private Space (Google, Android 15+)
  • Secret / hidden folders on Android
