Important settings for iOS devices

This guide explains how to configure essential settings on your iOS device to ensure you receive alarms and notifications from Cosafe.

Having the correct settings on your mobile device is crucial to ensure you always receive alarms and notifications from Cosafe, even if your phone is in silent or Do Not Disturb mode.

Note that names and menu options may differ between iOS models. If something looks different on your device, look for similar wording.

First time logging in to the Cosafe app

When you open the Cosafe app and log in for the first time, your phone will ask you to approve several important settings. These permissions are required for Cosafe to function correctly.

1. Allow notifications

  • Tap Allow notifications, then tap Allow.

2. Allow Critical Alerts

To receive alarms even when your phone is on silent or in Do Not Disturb mode, you must allow Critical Alerts.

  • Tap Allow Critical Alerts, then tap Allow.

3. Allow location access

When you send an alarm, Cosafe takes a snapshot of your location. To enable this:

  • Tap Allow location access.
  • Select Allow once or Allow while using the app.

If you do not see the Location option under settings, follow the instructions bellow:

  1. Go to your phones Settings
  2. Scroll down to Privacy & Security
  3. Go to Location Services
  4. Make sure the main Location Services toggle at the top is On

4. Test your alarm

  • Tap Test the alarm.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to complete the alarm test.

Check and adjust settings when you're already loged in

If you are already logged in, or if your alarm test failed, you can manually check whether any settings need to be adjusted.

If you have important settings that needs to be adjusted

  • A yellow banner labeled Important app settings will appear at the top of the screen. Tap it to go directly to the settings.

Alternatively:

  • Tap the menu button (three lines in the top-right corner).
  • Select Important app settings.

Here you will see a list of key settings required by Cosafe:

Green tick = the setting is correct.

Red cross = the setting is incorrect and needs to be adjusted.

Tap Change next to the incorrect setting to fix it.

Once corrected, the red cross will change to a green tick.
