This guide is intended for users to configure essential settings on their Android devices to ensure the Cosafe app functions optimally.
Note: The exact names and locations of settings may vary depending on your Android version and device model. If you cannot find the exact settings as described, look for similar terms and options.
Allow Alarms to Bypass Silent or Do Not Disturb Mode
- Open the Cosafe app.
- Tap on the menu icon (three dots or lines) in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Enable the option Bypass Silent Mode.
- When prompted, grant Do Not Disturb access to Cosafe:
- Tap on Allow.
Ensure Notification Volume is On
- Open your phone's Settings.
- Navigate to Sound & Vibration.
- Select Volume.
- Ensure the Notifications slider is turned up.
Allow Notifications from Cosafe
- Open your phone's Settings.
- Scroll down or search for Apps.
- Locate and tap on Cosafe.
- Select Notifications.
- Ensure Allow Notifications is enabled.
- Enable Sound and Vibration.
- Check all notification types:
- Lock Screen
- Badges
- Pop-up
If you see Notification Categories, ensure the following are enabled:
- Alarm Messages
- Actions
- Chat Replies
- New Chats
- Messages
Allow Location Access
- Open your phone's Settings.
- Scroll down or search for Apps.
- Locate and tap on Cosafe.
- Select Permissions.
- Tap on Location.
- Choose Allow Only While Using the App.
Manage Unused Apps
- Open your phone's Settings.
- Scroll down or search for Cosafe.
- Tap on Cosafe.
- Disable Remove Permissions If App Is Unused.
Disable Battery Optimization
- Open your phone's Settings.
- Scroll down to Apps or search for Cosafe.
- Tap on Cosafe.
- Select Battery.
- Choose No Restrictions.
Allow data Usage in background and Data saver
- Open your phone's Settings.
- Scroll down to Apps or search for Cosafe.
- Tap on Cosafe.
- Select Mobile data
- Enable Allow background data usage
- Enable Allow data usage while Data saver is on
Settings for Dual Profiles
If you have both personal and work profiles on your Android device and aren't receiving notifications in silent mode on your work profile, it might be due to missing permissions.
Your IT department needs to update policies via MDM granting the Cosafe app Do Not Disturb access on the work profile.
If you have a work profile and your IT haven't given you the permission seen above yet, try the following:
Allow Cosafe during Do not disturb
- Open your phone's Settings
- Navigate to Notifications
- Go to Do not disturb
- Scroll down and click on App notifications
- Press Add apps
- Scroll down and select Cosafe then press Done
