Map and location accuracy
This article explains how Cosafe handles location on the map when sending an alarm, and how you can improve the accuracy of your reported location.
Location accuracy indicator
When you open the map to confirm your location, Cosafe displays an accuracy indicator in the form of a cirlce around your pin, showing how precise your current GPS position is. The accuracy circle is shared together with your location — meaning those viewing the position you sent can also see how precise it is.
If you move the pin or search for a new location, the location accuracy indicator will disappear.
Default location based on your region
If Cosafe doesn’t have permission to access your device’s location, it uses your region to set a sensible default map location instead of a fixed location in Sweden. This means the map opens closer to you and makes it faster to adjust your position.
This is for when Cosafe doesn't have the permission to use the devices location.
Adjusting your location with the drag pin or search bar
If your automatic location is not accurate, you can drag the pin on the map or search for your exact position before sending the alarm.
To adjust the pin:
- Tap and hold the pin, then drag it to your actual location.
- Release the pin once it is positioned correctly.
- Confirm your location and proceed with sending the alarm.
If you move the pin or search for a new location, the location accuracy indicator will disappear.
Improved zoom behaviour
The map now zooms in to a more useful level by default, making it easier to see your surroundings and place the pin accurately. You can still pinch to zoom in or out as needed.
