Test your alarm

Self-test of the alarm

You can easily perform a self-test of your alarm to ensure that you have the correct settings on your device. The test alarm is only sent to the user who initiated it; no other users are affected. To test the alarm, follow the instructions below.

Testing the Alarm on a Mobile Phone/Tablet

Note: Step 4 is crucial if you want to receive an alarm signal; otherwise, you will only receive a notification.

  1. Tap on the Menu in the top right corner (the button with three lines).
  2. Select "Test your alarm."
  3. Tap on "Test the alarm."
  4. IMPORTANT! Close the app or lock the phone; otherwise, you will not receive an alarm signal.
  5. After 15 seconds, the test alarm will activate on your device with a notification and loud signal. When you reopen the app, you need to indicate whether it worked or failed.

Did you receive the test alarm and signal? Great!

If not, you likely haven't configured the settings correctly when you downloaded the Cosafe app or you have an outdated version of the app. This can be easily resolved by following the instructions in these articles:

As an Administrator, You Can View Users' Self-Test Results

In the admin panel, administrators can view the outcomes of all users' self-tests.

In the "Users" view, there is a column labeled "Alarm Test" that shows whether a user has performed a self-test and the result. Below is an explanation of each icon:

  • A yellow circle indicates that the user has never performed a self-test.
  • A blue exclamation mark indicates that the user has performed a self-test but has not specified the outcome.
  • A green checkmark indicates that the user has performed a self-test and it was successful.
  • A red cross indicates that the user has performed a self-test but it failed.
